Get told when the rate changes
What you will and will not get
- One email per rate change. Prime has moved 17 times in the last five years, so expect a handful a year at most.
- The number, and what it costs. Every alert says what the change does to a repayment per R1 million of bond, so you can decide whether to act.
- No newsletter. This is a separate list from our mailing list — subscribing here does not sign you up for anything else.
- No account needed, and one-click unsubscribe in every email.
Why this is worth knowing early
A rate change moves every loan priced off prime — your bond, your vehicle finance, most personal loans. Banks apply it automatically; what they do not do is tell you that a cut is the moment to ask for a better spread, or that a hike is the moment to check whether your repayment still fits.
See the full record on the prime rate history page, or work out your own position with the bond calculator.

Members can set price lines on individual products — a crypto or JSE asset crossing a rand figure you choose — from your saved items. That is a different, more specific alert from this one, and the two do not overlap.
